ALUMNI

Eduardo Florence is a veterinarian and an expert in livestock production. He has 15 years of experience as an assistant coach in cattle farms, and in the training of producers and rural workers. He resides in the city of Alta Floresta, in the State of Mato Grosso, Brazil.

In the last 5 years, he worked at the Instituto Centro de Vida (ICV) where he was a project coordinator for the project “Pecuária Integrada de Baixo Carbono”, funded by USAID and Fundo Vale, which demonstrated the feasibility of processes of intensification of production associated with the absence of deforestation and with environmental recovery. He was part of the team that developed the “Programa novo Campo”, financed by Moore Foundation and Norad, which was a larger scale application of the concept tested previously.

Currently, he is attached to the soil lab at the State University of Mato Grosso, Campus Alta Floresta, developing a dissertation in soil science. The goal is to compare physical, chemical and biological attributes in intensified, managed grazing areas with degraded areas, keeping as a reference areas of preserved forest.
